Vinyl sales rose 26% in 2016

Last week the Business and economic newspaper Financial Times brought up the report on vinyl sales in the world and the results are more than unexpected:  the vinyl sales rose 2016% in 2016, making it a soon-to-be a billion dollar business. The renewed interest in vinyl is growing continuously and it is even more surprising considering the fact that the more and more people are listening to music through streaming services.

Financial Times also gave an estimate on 2017 vinyl sales which should be around 40 million and it would make the 7th consecutive year that its sales grows.

Vinyl should also account for almost a fifth of the sales of physical music products in 2017 and around 7 per cent of the $15bn that the global music industry is expected to take.
