This Is The Kit – Moonshine Freeze First Goes EP

This Is The Kit will be releasing a new digital EP, a collection of four acoustic tracks, as an appendix to their sensational 2017 record Moonshine Freeze.

alking about the EP, which comes out this Friday March 30th on Rough Trade, titled Moonshine First Goes, Kate Stables states:

‘Way back in the mists of time ‘Moonshine Freeze’ was but a kernel of an idea, a sliver of a shiver. Before we went in the studio with John Parish, I went on a solitary confinement writing retreat, heading up some stairs and in a cupboard at J & J Studio (thanks Jim!), and in our very own Jamie’s shed It was a time of finishing off songs, working out arrangements and looking for drum patterns in preparation for burying ourselves in the studio to get the album recorded. I like hearing these early versions again. It totally takes me back to that time and those places. Formative times. Some of these recordings found their way into our lovely label Rough Trade Records’ hands and they thought that you lot would like to hear these embryonic versions’

“A soaring new star of contemporary folk” – The Guardian, 4/5 stars
