Ray BLK signed by Kobalt wins BBC’s Sound Of 2017


3 days ago BBC announced the winner of their famous “Sound of…”, a poll of music critics and industry figures to find the most promising new music talent for each year. The winner of BBC’s Sound Of 2017 is Ray BLK, a 23-year old soul singer from South London, who is the first unsigned artist who has won this honour and whom IDM Music represent regionally through Kobalt Music.

The Sound of 2017 list was chosen by a panel of 170 DJs, critics and festival bookers and according to the rules the candidates should not be well known and they must not have had a UK top 20 single or album before 30 October 2016.

The Sound of… list launched in 2003 and has a track record in championing new and innovative acts, including 50 Cent, Haim, Frank Ocean, Ellie Goulding and Florence + The Machine.
