BMG publishing artist Jamiroquai have made their official return to the charts with the release of their new album Automaton on March 31. Landing in the Top 10 albums charts in several territories, the 12 track album debuted at number four in the UK, making Automaton Jamiroquai’s eighth consecutive Top 10 album.
The hotly tipped album is the funk masters’ first album in seven years. The record took the top spot in Italy, marking their first Number One since A Funk Odyssey released in 2001. Automaton debuted at number two in France, followed by Holland (number four), Germany (number five), and Belgium (number six).
Automaton is Jamiroquai’s eighth studio album since their 1993 debut album Emergency on Planet Earth. Combined, Jamiroquai has sold over 26 million albums worldwide. The highly anticipated lead single and title track made waves upon its release with the accompanying music video garnering nearly 7 million views on YouTube.
Performed some of their new material in front of sold out audiences in the UK and France, Jamiroquai will hit the road this spring performing at festivals and will continue touring throughout Europe and the UK in November.
