Have you listened to The Boomtown Rats – Citizens of Boomtown?

Citizens of Boomtown is the seventh studio album by the legendary Irish rock band The Boomtown Rats.

The first new Boomtown Rats album since 1984’s In the Long Grass, Citizens of Boomtown marks the first bit of “actual” activity since the band reformed in 2013.

Originally formed in Dublin in 1975 and led by vocalist and primary songwriter Bob Geldof, The Boomtown Rats had a series of Irish and UK hits between 1977 and 1985 including the No.1 singles “Rat Trap” & ‘I Don’t Like Mondays”.

“Geldof and crew with a most unlikely early album of the year contender” – 8/10
Louder Than War

“Geldof and Co. still have plenty left in the tank to produce a quality record, let’s hope it takes less than 36 years to put out the next one after this”

“Bob Geldof’s gang reconvene for a wildly unlikely and mostly enjoyable ride. An unexpected pleasure.”
The Arts Desk

“Nostalgic nods to their first musical loves, bits that nod back to the first records they made and plenty of vim & spark”
The Guardian
